Angela desires to make a difference in students’ lives by encouraging their creativity and growth through a positive musical and theatre experience. Each residency is customized through collaborative conversations between all involved in order to meet the necessary goals.

Residency and workshop participants can expect to gain a strong foundation in music, theatre, or musical theatre skills through a nurturing environment that allows the participant to find freedom in their expression of knowledge in a variety of subjects. These experiences will build upon each student’s individual skills, allowing them to better communicate and collaborate with others, and learn strategies to grasp new concepts.

Through her many experiences working with children and teens in an educational environment, Angela has acquired a balance of authority and mentorship that would invite a safe and creative place for students to gain knowledge and confidence through voice and movement.
Angela aims an environment where she can meet students at their level so they can feel free to share, create, and explore.

Background

Angela Kay Collier has served as a teaching artist working with children and adults of all ages around the nation. Originally from Cedar Hill, TX, Angela first moved to Arkansas to attend Ouachita Baptist University, where she earned her Bachelor of Music degree in Musical Theatre graduating cum laude.

She has recently performed in Into the Woods (Baker’s Wife), Doubt: A Parable (Sister James) both at The Studio Theatre, and Mary Poppins the Musical (Mary Poppins) with The Royal Players, in addition to professional theatrical work in Dallas, TX, Atlanta, GA and Little Rock.
