T Tauri youth filmmaking workshops have introduced hundreds of Arkansas students to the world of digital media production. The process of creating a video art work melds training in new technologies with visual and aural creative exploration to create the perfect "right brain, left brain" arts learning experience. Additionally, Public Service Announcement workshops provide a highly effective mechanism for students to engage with and be of service to their communities. Presenters may select Video Poetry or Public Service Announcement as the workshop focus and on-site workshops may be one week or two weeks in length. Video Poetry workshops incorporate poetry-related reading and writing activities included in the Arkansas Department of Education K-8 and 9-12 English Language Arts Curriculum Frameworks. Public Service Announcement workshops incorporate activities included in the Arkansas Department of Education Learn and Serve Curriculum Framework. Based on the highly collaborative and creative nature of digital video production, both workshops also incorporate activities included in the Frameworks governing Character-Centered Teaching, especially in the areas of responsibility, contemplation, initiative, and adaptability. Skills acquired in the workshops include storytelling, scriptwriting, camera operation, sound recording, lighting, acting, editing, project planning, and time and resource allocation. Available to conduct teacher workshops.

"T Tauri" is the astronomer's name for a star at the dawn of its birth. Since its creation in 2005, the T Tauri Movie Camp, the youth division of Ozark Foothills FilmFest, Inc., has worked to provide training opportunities for young filmmakers and aspiring filmmakers in the region and across the state, the "new stars" of the filmmaking universe. The T Tauri Movie Camp summer residency program offers two weeks of filmmaking workshops that have included Camcorder Fundamentals, Community Documentary, Script to Screen (narrative filmmaking), animation (hand-drawn and claymation), Poetry in Motion, and Acting on Camera. In 2008, the T Tauri Galaxy (www.ttauri.org/galaxy), an online community and film school, was launched as a way of providing additional resources and opportunities for young filmmakers throughout the year. In 2009, T Tauri became a founding partner of Operation Military Kids in Arkansas, conducting Short Documentary and Public Service Announcement workshops at their summer camp for children of deployed military personnel. Instructors are working filmmaker/educators, bringing both instructional training and real-world experience to the task.
