South Arkansas Symphony

Southeast Region
El Dorado, Arkansas
[email protected]

The primary mission of the South Arkansas Symphony is to educate, entertain, and inspire the audiences of the future. To accomplish this purpose musicians, conductors, and staff work closely with school officials to implement programs of value that correlate with curricular goals. Three programs are being offered to schools around South Arkansas. First, Youth Concerts are offered as a way for students to hear music with a professional full piece orchestra. Second, small chamber groups make special appearances to talk specifically about their instruments, and then special masterclasses with guests artists are arranged for performance at individual school sites. For more information call Scott Watkins at 800-792-0521.

Founded in 1956 as one of the first orchestras in Arkansas, the South Arkansas Symphony is a 65 piece professional orchestra bringing the very best of classical music to the residents of Arkansas. The orchestra has played an integral part in providing Arkansas access to high quality artistic music through touring, recording, and community education concerts.
