Conway Symphony Orchestra Ensembles

The Conway Symphony Orchestra was founded by community music supporters in the early 80’s, with a debut concert in 1984. Originally a joint project of the music departments at Hendrix College and University of Central Arkansas, the CSO roster is now composed of approximately 2/3 pre-professional musicians with the remainder professional musicians from across the region. With the addition of a main stage Pops concert in 2007-2008, and collaboration with the UCA Public Appearances series starting in 2009-10, CSO is now presenting a seven-concert season in addition to its in-school classroom program. As the symphony has grown, its relationship with UCA has become more formalized, with our Conductor/Music Director Israel Getzov holding a faculty position, and scholarship students serving as symphony musicians.

The Conway Symphony Orchestra can create a variety of small ensembles to meet your needs, from a string quartet or trio, to a woodwind duo, or a solo marimba performance. The CSO includes both professional and pre-professional musicians in a full range of instruments.
