Violinist Er-Gene Kahng has been described as “sporting a sweet warm tone” and performing with a “caressing sense of phrase.” Currently serving as Concertmaster of the Arkansas Philharmonic, the North Mississippi Symphony Orchestra, and Assistant Concertmaster of the Fort Smith Symphony, Kahng also performs as a substitute section violinist with the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra and the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra. She is available for solo performance and lecture recitals/workshops.

Special projects can include:

      • Classical recitals with themes based on nations/styles—German giants, French impressionists, Classical Mozart and Haydn
      • Music and technology—violin and tape, violin and looping—Steve Reich and 1950s Minimalism, or Philip Glass and John Adams with modern minimalism
      • Celebration of Arkansas’ music tradition—workshops/lecture recitals/performances focused on Conlon Nancarrow, William Grant Still, Florence Price
      • Music and literature—interdisciplinary lecture recitals/presentations
      • Museum/ gallery shows—interdisciplinary visual art/performance art/music performances
