Lee Street Lyrical

An Arkansas Country Music Award Nominee for Acoustic Act of the Year, Lee Street Lyrical (featuring Buddy Case & Casey Penn) is a harmony-rich, acoustic duo that engages audiences with its performances of Americana/roots, classic country, folk-pop, and more. The band has taken the stage in such notable venues as the Ozark Folk Center, Kings Opera House, Mountain View Meeting Place, Collins Theater, and other locations near its Central Arkansas base. Founded in 2018, Lee Street Lyrical is currently working on its first album for release in 2019.

Guitarist Buddy Case is an internationally-known, award-winning songwriter and champion guitarist recognized through the Mid-South for his smooth vocals, excellent songs, and stellar guitar work onstage and in the studio. He has performed as a member of The Acousticatz, and was voted Audience Favorite while placing Runner-Up in the Merle Travis National Thumbpicking Championship.

An award-winning writer and songwriter, Casey Penn adds pure vocals, heartfelt songs, and rich fiddle playing. Bluegrass Unlimited contributor Bill Conger wrote of KingPenn, her 2016 release, “Penn’s cut-to-the-soul vocals are featured in several of the songs ... My favorite song is the opening cut, ”Oceans (I Have Cried),” which won an honorable mention in the 2016 Hazel Dickens Bluegrass Songwriting Competition." Casey is also a regional coordinator for the Central Arkansas Chapter of NSAI (Nashville Songwriting Association International).

Lee Street Lyrical performs as a duo or as a trio with the addition of frequent guest Will Penn on upright bass. Upon request, Lee Street Lyrical may pull in additional guests to perform as a full band.

Buddy and Casey are also available for educational workshops on topics that include acoustic guitar at varying levels and specializations, basic song structure, and songwriting evaluation and resources.
