Rich Jones

Rich Jones has devoted his life to preserving and promoting acoustic American blues. His solo performances showcase the authentic acoustic blues styles indigenous to Arkansas and the Mississippi North Hill Country and Delta regions. His programs also touch on the Carolinas' Piedmont Ragtime style. Taught by the masters of the tradition, Rich tells stories and relates historical facts throughout his presentation, bring the tradition to life. Thirty- and sixty-minute workshops are also available that cover finger picking and slide techniques for all ages and abilities. Taught in the Mississippi and Arkansas Delta and Piedmont styles, this workshop is a multi-layered education.

As an additional part of the engagement, Rich also can bring a self-contained mobile museum showing artifacts from more than one hundred years of Ozark and Delta blues history. The traveling display features instruments, posters, and memorabilia, along with first-hand recollections by actual participants. Booking the museum includes a live, interactive, educational performance and an audio presentation of historically and regionally significant music that offers students the ability to learn audibly, as well as visually, making the long-lost music come alive.
