Ozark Highballers

Ozark Highballers

Authentic Ozark music at its best. The Ozark Highballers reach deep into regional traditions to offer an entertaining and educational program that includes square dance music, classic banjo pieces, ballads, and sweet harmonies. Their music reflects the spirit and drive of rural Ozark string bands from the 1920s and 30s.

This three to four piece string band has performed and taught workshops at the Brooklyn Folk Festival, the Stephen Foster Old-time Week, Bluff Country Gathering, St. Louis Folk & Roots, Colorado Rocky Mountain Stringband Festival, Los Angeles Old-time Social, and the Ozark Folk Center. Workshops include Ozark fiddling, finger style and frailing banjo, Old-time back-up guitar, and ballad singing. Performances range from square dances to festival stages to libraries.
