The Three Pianists

“The Three Pianists” is a unique piano ensemble showcasing three professional Asian concert pianists. Specializing in performing six-hand and four-hand pianos works of different combinations, the trio repertoire also includes newly-composed work with various cultural influences. Each performer holds a DMA degree in piano performance and currently is a faculty member at an Arkansas university. Dr. Lei Cai was born in Shanghai, China , and is Associate Professor of Piano at Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia. Japanese-American Dr. Naoki Hakutani is Assistant Professor of Piano at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Dr. Hee-Kyung Juhn is currently the Director of Keyboard Studies at Henderson State University, also in Arkadelphia. Concert programs can include such works as the “The Carmen overture” by Bizet arranged for six-hands by A. Sartorio, the Mozart Sonata in D Major, K. 381 for four-hands, and “Homage ‘a Stravinsky, Prokofiev and Shostakovich” (1979) by A. Schnittke for six-hands.
