Trike Theatre

Trike Theatre

Trike Theatre is Northwest Arkansas’s professional theater for youth. We produce imaginative and interactive theatrical experiences for Arkansas Pre-K and Elementary school children and families. Using work conceived and created by world-class artists, company playwrights and professional actors, we create an immersive theater experience where the audience becomes part of the storytelling. Our productions travel throughout the state, performing in theaters, libraries and schools.

In 2016-17, Trike Theatre is touring three productions for the Pre-K audiences and their families—In My Own Backyard (Sept/Oct), Grandma’s Story Quilt (Nov/Dec) and Three Billy Goats Gruff (Jan/Feb). These Theatre for the Very Young performances are unique and intimate because the audience sits close to the performers and is invited to become characters in the storytelling. Shows can either be booked as a smaller performance into individual Pre-K classrooms (for a max of 25 audience), or as a larger performance for public venues such as theaters or libraries.

Contracted organizations are provided with Post-workshop Play Cards (available in both Spanish and English), an 8.5” x 5.5” card with information about the production’s literacy focus, books for exploration, reflection questions, and follow-up creative literacy activities. Pre-show and post-show workshops are also available. These 30-minute hands-on workshops extend students’ play-going experience by providing pre-show opportunities for students to learn actively about the academic concepts in the play, and then after seeing the performance, retell the story through drama,
