Valta Sexton

Valta Sexton presents a multidisciplinary program tailored to your school or organization. A performance features ballads known and sung in the Ozark Mountains have interesting stories behind them. Songs and music were comforts at home that could be used to help with work or entertain the children. Women in small communities kept these songs alive and passed them on to others as treasured links with England, Ireland, and Scotland, the homes of their grandparents. A daytime workshop for art, music, or crafts is also available. Sculpting with paper clay or polymer clay can be an enjoyable illustration for a history project. A simple finger game can teach music theory. A class in autoharp for teachers can improve the instrument's usefulness in the classroom. Each of Valta's programs are coordinated to fit your needs.
