Events, Workshops Canceled

Arkansas Arts Council - Friday, March 20, 2020

We canceled three events in March and have put a hold on scheduling more workshops and events through mid-May.

The move comes as COVID-19, also known as the coronavirus, hits Arkansas. Events were canceled to help stop the spread of the virus.

Arkansas Poetry Out Loud, the Governor’s Arts Awards and a GetSmART! workshop all were canceled in March. Video profiles of all the winners of this year’s Governor’s Arts Awards are available on our website and social media platforms. Tickets have or are being refunded.

Small Works on Paper, our touring visual arts exhibition, will be suspended through at least April. The exhibition will not move to the University of Arkansas at Rich Mountain next month.

The May ceremony to honor the 2020 Arkansas Living Treasure has been put on hold indefinitely. The Advisory Council of the Arkansas Arts Council meeting scheduled for this May also may be postponed.

Plans are underway to reschedule GetSmART! workshops and to make more content available online. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
