Online Workshop Focuses on Next Steps to Nonprofit Success

The Arkansas Arts Council is pleased to present a free, GetSmART! webinar that will guide nonprofit leaders through the strategic planning process ­– from beginning to end –and teach them how to develop a timeline. This webinar will be held from 10 a.m. until noon Thursday, June 18, and is a follow-up session to the May 21 webinar, “Strategic Planning for Nonprofit Leaders.”

“Strategic Planning for Nonprofit Leaders: Next Steps” is for nonprofit leaders but is open to anyone interested. Individuals, nonprofits, businesses or organizations interested in strategic planning will benefit.

Brenda Mauldin, owner of Brenda Long Mauldin Grant Writing & Development Consulting, will present the online workshop, which will include tips and discussions on best practices.

  • The webinar will address steps to:
  • Get started with your staff and board
  • Incorporate focus groups and surveys for community input
  • Execute a Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats Analysis
  • Develop goals, objectives and action steps from the planning session
  • Create a workable strategic plan
  • Evaluate a strategic plan
  • Develop a timeline for the entire process

Mauldin has more than 25 years of fundraising experience in Central Arkansas. She has worked for a variety of organizations and has helped secure funding for the arts, youth, hospice programs and more. She has firsthand experience in nonprofit management, administration, strategic planning, volunteer management, board development and fundraising. Mauldin, who currently lives in Benton, is a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

Registration for the webinar is free and available at ArkansasArts.org. The GetSmART! Learning Series offers affordable or free workshops that cover art-related and professional-development topics for artists and nonprofit organizations.
