Seven Arkansas Artists Receive Fellowships

Congratulations to the seven talented Arkansas artists who were presented with Individual Artist Fellowship awards on Sunday, Oct. 25, at a reception at the 21c Museum Hotel in Bentonville.Individual Artist Fellowships are unconditional, non-matching awards made directly to individual artists.

Awarded annually, these $4,000 fellowships recognize the artistic creative excellence of the recipient’s work and enable the selected artists to devote more time and energy to creating their art and mastering their craft. Funding categories change each year. The following artists were honored for their work:

Literary Arts - Screenwriting: Jennifer Gerber, Hot Springs; Hardin Young, Fayetteville

Performing Arts - Dance Choreography: Karen Castleman, Bentonville; Marisa Kirby, North Little Rock

Visual Arts - Sculpture/Installation Art: Dayton Castleman, Bentonville; Joe Ford, Jonesboro; Dawn Holder, Clarksville
