Workshops to Focus on Poetry, Marketing and Endowments

Arkansas Arts Council - Monday, October 08, 2018

We have several GetSmART! learning series programs coming up you won’t want to miss!

Need to a chance to play with poetry? We’ve teamed up with the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center (MTCC) to host a free, interactive poetry event at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, for people age 55 and older.

Karen Hayes, a writer, performance poet, speaker and certified Alzheimer’s Poetry Project coordinator, will lead the Poetry for Life workshop at the center at 501 W. Ninth St. in Little Rock.

Or maybe you want to make sure your organization achieves and maintains financial stability?

Join us at our next workshop at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29, and learn how to start and grow endowments. Cost is only $10 to hear Ashley Coldiron, chief development officer for the Arkansas Community Foundation, present “Growing Your Organization’s Endowment” at the Department of Arkansas Heritage, Diamond Conference Room, at 1100 North St. in Little Rock. Refreshments will be provided.

Or, maybe you’re a visual artist who needs a marketing plan?

We’ll be diving into a marketing workshop with Jaquita Ball, of Red Cat Art, LLC, at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at the Department of Arkansas Heritage. Cost is $15 and includes lunch and snacks.

Please let us know if you need accessibility support, including for sight, hearing and food. The venue is fragrance free, so please avoid wearing perfume. Also, parking at the department is available in the front and rear of the building, but all visitors must enter through the front door.
