Workshops for veterans start up soon

Arkansas Arts Council - Monday, September 24, 2018

The Arkansas Arts Council, a division of the Department of Arkansas Heritage, and the Central Arkansas Veterans Health System will present a series of creative arts workshops for military veterans statewide starting in October.

The first workshops will be held 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1-4:30 p.m. Oct. 23 and Oct. 25 in the Razorback Room (1G-101) on the first floor of the Eugene J. Towbin Healthcare Center at 2200 Fort Roots Drive in North Little Rock.

The two days will be structured with creative writing sessions held in the mornings and visual arts held in the afternoons. The workshops are for any veterans in the surrounding community.

The Arts Council and CAVHS want to share the benefits of creative expression, creative writing and visual arts and help veterans hone existing skills. There also will be opportunities to sign up for the 2019 Creative Arts Festival and to receive information about the benefits of enrolling in CAVHS for health care benefits. Come to either or come to both.
