Peg Roach Loyd, singer/songwriter, (vocals/guitar/bodhran/bones/irish whistle) has a soothing voice that hints of her Irish ancestry. She writes clever and engaging songs in traditional Celtic and American folk styles that tell stories of Irish history, emigration, musical craic (the Irish word for fun), love and parting. In 2008, Peg won a gold medal for her song, "The Fiddler's Feet" at the Midwest Fleadh in Detroit, Michigan, which qualified her to compete in the 2008 All-Ireland Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann in Tullamore, County Offaly, Ireland. Her debut solo CD, Carving in Stone, was released in December 2007. In addition to performing, Peg also is available to teach workshops in songwriting, guitar, bodhran, bones, and Irish whistle.
