I am a self taught artist who has painted most of my life as a hobby until retirement two years ago. I like to paint a wide variety of subjects from harvesting machinery to people eating in an outdoor cafe using oils exclusively as my medium. I prefer to include "people" in my paintings although I do not paint portraits. On several occasions I have attempted to learn to use watercolors, acrylics and pastels but always return to the oil paints. Melissa and I built my backyard studio with our own hands with help from professionals only for the electrical wiring and attaching the studio siding.
