New Artists Added to 2013-2014 Arts on Tour Roster

November 28, 2012

Congratulations to the newest members of the 2013-2014 Arts on Tour roster! They join an impressive list of performers, visual artists in residence and prepared art exhibitions available for touring within the state. An independent panel chooses new roster artists each year through an audition/interview process. Selection is based on the quality of the artists’ work and on a demonstrated ability to tour in Arkansas.

These artists will be available for performances scheduled on or after July 1, 2013. Presenters can request reimbursements after April 1, 2013. The following artists have been selected:

Ukulele Bill is a humorous solo program presented by William Higgs of Conway telling the history of the ukulele and performing period appropriate songs.

Tales from the South: On the Road is the traveling version of the NPR radio show, Tales from the South, which showcases local storytellers and musicians. Created and hosted by Paula Morell of North Little Rock.

Piano Duo “Arête” showcases four-hand repertoire for one and two pianos featuring duo pianists Tatiana Roitman and Kristina Marinova from Little Rock.

Wild Beats Piano Trio is a cutting edge music trio featuring featuring Tatiana Roitman on the piano, Meredith Maddox-Hicks on the violin and David Gerstein on the cello, all from Little Rock.

The Artist’s Laboratory Theatre is a site-specific storytelling/theater performance created by Erika Wilhite of Fayetteville.

The Dizzy 7 featuring Craig Wilson is a jazz/pop ensemble with vocalist Craig Wilson of Little Rock.

Funding for the Arkansas Arts Council and its programs is provided by the State of Arkansas and The National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.
